The Newborn Care Series is the class I wish I’d taken with my own first child, made free for every family in the county. We cover feeding without taking sides on bottle versus breast, sleep without pretending there’s a method that works for every infant, and the small but important question of when to actually call the provider and when to wait it out.
Who this is for
- First-time expecting parents, late pregnancy is the right time to take this
- Second- and third-time parents who want a refresh
- One parent attending alone, or both, or a parent plus a grandparent or friend
- Anyone who has read every book and now wants to talk to a person
How it works
The series runs each month, with extra sessions added as needed. Susan teaches, along with IBCLC providers. We work from a printed handout you keep.

- Once a month, or as needed
- 6 to 10 families per cohort
- A printed handout for each session
- Time for questions every week, not just at the end
- No quiz, no grade, no expectation of attending every session if life intervenes

Free. The foundation covers materials, the room, and the facilitator’s time.
